This kitchen accessory/ornament was designed in the early seventies. Along with its counterpart piece that has contrasting woods, perhaps as many as one hundred have been produced, sold or given away. The dovetail joint at its center is a traditional woodworking joint that is quite stable when it is hanging, yet allows the hands to come apart easily. This piece is one of a set of 16 made out of one piece of kiln dried hard maple with a Watco oil finish.
